Ricardo Rojas
Ambassador of Chile to Japan

A graduate of the Chilean Diplomatic Academy, Ambassador Rojas holds a degree in Business and Economics from the University of Santiago, as well as a Master’s in International Public Policy (MIPP) from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. He also holds a Diploma in Export Management from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and a Diploma in Public Management from the University of Chile, among other specializations.

Throughout his diplomatic career abroad, he has served as Ambassador of Chile to Croatia; Minister-Counselor and Chief of Staff at the Embassy of Chile in Colombia; Counselor and Chief of Staff at the Embassy of Chile in Uruguay; Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Chile in Peru; First Secretary for Political and Legislative Affairs at the Embassy of Chile in the United States; Third Secretary for Political and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Chile in Poland; and Third Secretary for Political and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Chile in New Zealand.

In Chile, he has held positions as Director General for Administration; Chief of Staff to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development; Chief of Staff to the Director General for Foreign Policy; Deputy Director of Planning; Economic Affairs Coordinator in the Minister’s Cabinet; and Economic Affairs Coordinator in the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs’ Cabinet.

He was a member of the Fulbright Commission Board in Chile and is part of the Circle of Honor of Business and Economics at the University of Santiago.
