Chilean Embassy and ProChile launch a working group with London-based Chilean visual artists and cultural managers

With a reception at the official residence, and in the context of the Frieze Contemporary Art Fair, the Chilean Embassy in the United Kingdom and the ProChile office in London officially launched the "Chilean Visual Artists Working Group" in the presence of guests from the British, international, and Chilean contemporary visual art industry.
During the event, the group's aim was presented: to enhance the visibility of Chile's visual arts sector in the British market - considering the quality of Chilean artists, and the prominence of London as a significant hub for this field. The presentation also covered the progress the group has made since its initial meeting, and extended an invitation to other Chilean artists and cultural managers residing in the United Kingdom to join and contribute to their efforts.
"The main idea is to turn this group into a space for mutual learning regarding the existing gaps in this market and the competencies of each person and institution have to address them. This has is already largely been achieved, and it has been very positive to see that the public sector is much closer to the needs and opportunities of this group. Therefore, the next challenge is to develop an ambitious, yet realistic, work plan based on a small number of initiatives that will have a lasting impact," said Francisco Bartolucci, Head of Mission of the Chilean Embassy in the United Kingdom.
"The event received a very positive evaluation from both organisers and attendees, and it was interesting to hold it at a time when there are high-quality exhibitions happening in London simultaneously," stated Nicolás Poblete, Director of ProChile London. "For ProChile, the creative industries sector is becoming increasingly relevant, and we believe it is crucial to continue positioning national art in countries like this in order to enrich the perception of Chile and its nation brand."
The event was sponsored by Viña Arboleda.
