Death Certificate

Required documents:

  1. Original Death certificate issued by the authorities of the appropriate country.

  2. Chilean Birth Certificate of the deceased.

  • The registration can be requested by relatives, a third party or the Consulate itself.

  • If the deceased is the non-Chilean spouse, the Chilean spouse must request the death certificate directly with the appropriate Chilean authority (Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación) in Santiago presenting the legalized Death Certificate of the appropriate country, and only in the case of the existence of a valid marriage in Chile.
