Ambassador Angulo presented his Credentials to President Kovind on Wednesday 13 March 2019. 

Juan Angulo (1963) is a career diplomat, economist from the University of Chile (1987), having obtained the "Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences prize" to the best graduate student of his class, mention of Economics. He graduated from the "Andrés Bello" Diplomatic Academy in 1989 and completed postgraduate studies in Public Management at the National School of Administration (ENA), Paris, France (Condorcet promotion, 1990-1992). He has followed several professional formation courses.

In his diplomatic career, he has worked abroad at the Embassies of Chile in Denmark and France, at the Consulate General of our country in Amsterdam and in the Mission of Chile to the European Union / Embassy in Belgium, where he served different positions in the political, commercial, consular and cooperation areas. He was Deputy Chief of Mission in Brussels and Paris.

In Chile, he has held functions in the General Directorate of International Economic Relations, in the General Administrative Directorate and in the Office of the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, having served as Chief of Staff in both offices. He has also been Deputy Director of the Directorate of European Affairs and at the time of his nomination as Ambassador to India, he served as Deputy Director of the Directorate for Environment and Ocean Affairs, where he was responsible, among other functions, to lead at the technical level the delegations of Chile to different meetings of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Ambassador Angulo is married to Patricia Vrij, former Dutch diplomat, and they have three children.
